Hi,My name is Lesia and I run Not Your Average Dog. This was inspired by my reactive boy Ranger (pictured below) with the goal of assisting other people with the management and training of their reactive dogs. I am a dog trainer and a CNWI (Certified Nose Work Instructor).Starting K9 Nose Work® has been such a journey for me and my dogs and we started training in 2013 with K9 Nose Time® here in Sydney. I soon undertook the CNWI program through the NACSW (National Association of Canine Scent Work) and have since taken over the running of K9 Nose Time.Nose Work is a wonderful option for reactive dogs because the dogs work one at a time. Reactive or fearful dogs may not always have the opportunity to train or trial in dog sports and this activity gives them a chance to play too. I now have reactive dogs in my classes on a daily basis. I am so passionate about this as a therapeutic activity for dogs and seeing the benefits for the dogs and the relationship building with their humans will continue to inspire me.K9 Nose Work® now has competitions run through the ACSW (Australian Canine Scent Work). This is a great opportunity for people with reactive dogs to compete!
